How to Measure Your Wall for Wallpaper
How to Measure Your Wall for Wallpaper
Achieve a perfect fit for your custom wallpaper by following these easy steps to measure your wall accurately. Remember, it’s best to include a small extra margin in your measurements for a flawless finish.
Standard Wall Measurement
- Use a Tape Measure: Measure the widest width and tallest height of the wall you want to cover.
- Only Measure the Wall Surface: Exclude any baseboards, crown molding, or other trim.
- Add a Little Extra: We recommend adding an extra 2 inches (about 5 cm) to both the height and width. This will ensure full coverage and ease of installation.
Once you've noted your measurements, choose your favorite design, enter the dimensions on our product page, select your wallpaper type, and proceed to checkout. Relax, knowing our team will custom-print your wallpaper to fit your space perfectly.
Measuring Different Wall Types
- Staircase or Sloped Walls: Measure the full height and width, ignoring any slopes or stair steps. Our wallpaper will arrive in a rectangular format, and you can trim it during installation.
- Pitched Walls with Two Slants: If your wall has two angled edges, measure the longest width and height. We’ll provide a rectangular piece, allowing you to trim the slopes as needed.
- Walls with Obstacles (e.g., Doors or Windows): Measure the entire width and height of the wall. Any obstacles can be cut away during installation. If you’d like, send us extra measurements or a photo to help us adjust the layout.
- Multiple Walls or Corners: For wrapping wallpaper around corners, measure the total width by adding the widths of each wall section, then measure the height of the tallest section.
